What is Exempted Insurance?

Is Exempted Insurance?
This practice, also known as motor insurance exemption, is a discount applied to the motor insurance policy price with the effect of the exemption rate agreed upon by the insurance company and the insured while issuing the insurance policy. Under the motor insurance policy, the insured undertakes to pay a part of the damage caused by the damage.

Insurance companies, when making claim payments for exempted motor insurance policies, are based on the remaining part after deducting the exemption rate specified in the policy. The determined exemption rate is paid by the insured himself. The fact that both parties make a payment distinguishes this motor insurance product from standard motor insurance products. Because only the insurance company makes the payment when damage occurs in non-exempt motor insurance products. For this reason, non-exempt motor insurance policies may be more expensive than exempted insurance policies.

is Insurance Exemption Applied?
Exemption discount is applied in two different ways in automobile insurance policies. You can check the details of these applications below:

Exemption Application
Application of deductible exemption from the insurance cost; 1% means that a certain rate, such as 2% or 3%, is exempt from the policy. In case of damage to the vehicle, a certain damage occurs and it is calculated how much of this damage corresponds to the insurance policy in the insurance policy. For example, if the exemption fee is determined as 2% while the policy is being prepared, in the event of a damage, the damages not exceeding 2% of the insurance amount are paid by the insured. The portion exceeding 2% is covered by the insurance company.

Exemption Application over a Certain Fee
This application refers to the exemption made on a fixed price, regardless of the insurance cost and percentage rate. For example, if a limit of 5000 TL is determined in the insurance policy with exemption, it is only checked whether the damage amount exceeds this amount. If the amount of damage falls below this amount, the insured pays. The parts exceeding 5000 TL are covered by the insurance company.
