Antalya Dim Cave

Antalya Dim Cave
Shining like a jewel among Alanya's natural treasures, Dim Cave is one of Turkey's largest and most magnificent caves open to tourism. Located on the slopes of Mount Cebel-i Reis, overlooking the Dim River Valley, it offers both a geological marvel and a panoramic viewing platform.

A Fairytale World Underground: Dim Cave

Located approximately 11 kilometers from Alanya city center, Dim Cave sits 232 meters above sea level. Estimated to be around 1 million years old, this natural formation was scientifically studied in 1986 and opened to visitors in 1998. It holds the distinction of being the first cave in Turkey to be opened to tourism by a private enterprise.

Architectural and Geological Formations

Although the cave is 410 meters long in total, a 360-meter walking path has been arranged for visitors. Inside, these fascinating details await you:

Damlataş Richness: Throughout the cave, you'll find enormous stalactites, stalagmites, columns, and delicate stalactite formations called "pasta." Each gallery, with the added effect of lighting, resembles a fantastic movie set.

Mysterious Lake: At the furthest point of the cave, 17 meters deeper than the entrance, lies a small underground lake of approximately 200 square meters. The stillness of the water, reflected in the stalactites on the ceiling, creates a unique spectacle.

Four Main Galleries: As you progress through the cave, you'll discover four different halls where the ceiling height and width constantly change.

Healing Air and Constant Temperature:

The interior of Dim Cave maintains a constant temperature of 18-19 degrees Celsius, regardless of the season. Due to its high humidity and clean underground air, it is known to offer a refreshing environment, especially for those with respiratory problems. It is the perfect refuge for those who want to escape the scorching 40-degree Celsius heat of Alanya in the summer.
