Gereme Ruins

The Gereme Ruins in Kayseri have taken their place on the southern skirts of Erciyes Mountain. Its former name is Spistra and it was a settlement established during the iconclastic period. Many civilizations ruled in the region. The first settled civilizations are Proto Hittites, Hittites, Assyrians, Phrygians, Romans, respectively. The Byzantines were the last to settle in the region.
